A great way to help horses is to volunteer at your local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that support equine causes.
Stableworx offers a volunteer option for a handful of service categories. We see this as another way to connect horse people and is in line with our mantra, "The Horses Come First."

- Nursing Care, Hold for Vet, Handwalking
- Braiding & Mane Pulling

Why Should I Volunteer?
Volunteering is also a great way to give back to the horses. It is also a wonderful opportunity for you to learn more about horse care and to build a network for your horse or farm services business.
Volunteering Best Practices
Make sure to only volunteer for legitimate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
Ask the Stableworx member (usually a Volunteer Coordinator or the manager of the nonprofit) who is reaching out to you in the chat for more details or a link to their website.
To check tax exempt status of the organization, gather some information from them that includes: Name, City, State, County, and Employer Identification Number (EIN). Then visit the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search Database to confirm the status of the organization.
We are here to help with this verification if needed- as always you can message the Stableworx team with any questions here.
Once you set up a volunteer session at the horse rescue, make sure to follow whatever direction is given to you when you arrive and to sign any waivers required by the nonprofit.
To be clear- if you are volunteering, you will not be paid by the 501(c)(3) organization scheduling you. There is no way to be paid for a volunteer gig through the Stableworx marketplace. We offer this volunteer networking option free of charge to both sides.
